RAHIM YAR KHAN: At least 400 tin shops were destroyed when a fire erupted in Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday.

The police said a fire broke out in Landa Bazaar, Sadiqabad Tehsil and as a result, 400 tin shops were completely burnt. Besides, 50 other shops in surrounding markets were also destroyed.

Sadiqabad Station House Officer Safdar Hussain told The Express Tribune, “A spark from a cart vendor, who was selling roasted peanuts, flew with wind and started a fire in Landa Bazaar.” He added, “Within minutes, the fire engulfed the entire market reducing goods worth millions to ashes.”

Soon after the incident, firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after six hours of hectic efforts. Railway Police had registered the case and started nvestigation.

According to SHO Railways Police Station Ghulam Abbas they have started the investigation.
