Fifty-year-old Zarina Bibi, wife of Muhammad Sharif, and her 22-year-old daughter S* were residents of Sector 11 in Orangi Town, within the limits of Mominabad police station. "The mother and the daughter were at home when the incident took place," said Mominabad police SHO Sabir Khattak. Quoting the witnesses, the officer said that at least two armed men riding a motorcycle came to the victims' house, adding that one of them stayed outside while another barged into the house.

"The armed man first shot Zarina twice in her head and chest, killing her on the spot," the officer claimed. "He also shot her daughter when she put up resistance," he added. S was shot twice in her shoulder and abdomen. The body and the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy and treatment.
Quoting initial investigation, the police investigators said that the incident took place over a personal dispute.
"A young guy in the area wanted to marry S and also sent a marriage proposal but her mother turned down the proposal," said the SHO.
The officer added that the deceased woman's sister-in-law was also at home when the incident took place but the family was not cooperating with the police.
The officer said that the deceased woman's daughter is under treatment at the hospital and the doctors are trying to save her life. No case was registered till the filing of this story, while the police said they are investigating the case.
