BAFTA Awards: Bringing bling to black

Which look is your favourite?

KARACHI: British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) rolled out the 70^th edition of the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday night. The starry affair saw some of Hollywood’s leading ladies put their best foot forward in ensembles that suited them seamlessly. While fashionistas like Sophie Turner and Emily Blunt sported swoon worthy dresses, style icon Emma Stone exuded desi vibes in matching separates and a pearl anklet.

Dressed in a glittering Chanel Couture Dress and corresponding cigarette pants, Stone definitely topped our best-dressed list. While her outfit seemed a suitable choice for the occasion, we loved the eastern appeal to it – bagging the top spot on our wish list for the desi wedding season. The silver dress featured intricate embroidery and a deep plunging neckline. A high ponytail was a chic decision on Stone’s part, not taking away from her heavily-embellished outfit.

While her outfit was on the whole western, the way Turner carried it was reminiscent of Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty - showing off her toned legs at almost every award function. The Game of Thrones starlet looked sultry in a Louis Vuitton plunging beaded-black gown with a thigh-high slit. Her all-black outfit added oomph to her look, and complemented the smokey eyes. Delicate silver jewellery and black strappy heels added to the finishing touches.

Va Va Voom! She is undoubtedly one who never ever lets us down with her sense of style. The actor’s embroidered Alexander McQueen number came complete with sheer panels that exhibited her legs while she walked. The neat hair bun and ruffles on the dress were reminiscent of the Victorian era. Blunt was seen flashing a diamante ring that featured a dragonfly. Minimal blush and a light pink pout completed her refined look.
