45-Day Deadline: CM seeks coal mining, transport plan 

He ordered a detailed plan on coal mining, transportation and other issues within 45 days

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given the authorities 45 days to come up with a plan for the mining and transportation of coal. He presided over a meeting in which mining, availability of coal for a power plant at the Salt Range and other important plans were discussed. German consultant Johann Gotsis briefed the meeting over mining techniques and availability of coal for the project. While addressing the meeting, the CM said the Punjab government was planning a coal power plant at the salt range. He ordered a detailed plan on coal mining, transportation and other issues within 45 days. He said Punjab was blessed with vast reservoirs of coal and there was a need to move forward with the help of recommendations by experts. He said mining of coal is profitable and it will be reviewed keeping experts’ opinions in mind.
