Bannu attack: Two cops injured in suicide attack

The FC and security forces threw a cordon around the area and a search operation was launched

BANNU: At least two policemen were seriously injured in a suicide attack at the Mundan police station in Bannu District in the wee hours on Tuesday, a district police officer Fazal Hamid said. “The suicide bomber smashed his explosives-loaded car into the gate of the police station, which injured two policemen at the gate and damaged the gate,” the DPO said giving details of the assault. The injured personnel were rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. Giving more details Hamid said that the suicide bomber was around 20-years-old. The FC and security forces threw a cordon around the area and a search operation was launched, but police have denied making any arrests in the case. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and another militant group owned the attack on the police station and reaffirmed that they will carry out such attacks to avenge the death of other extremists killed in the military operations in North Waziristan.
