BAHAWALPUR: At least four police officials were terminated from service while 15 others were awarded punishments and served show cause notices for their involvement in misconduct, corrupt practices and showing negligence in discharging their duties.

The action was taken by Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer Muhammad Idrees Ahmad during an orderly room meeting on Friday.

In addition, the regional police officer handed out penalties to several other police officers accused of negligence, delinquency and abuse of powers after conducting detailed investigation.

Meanwhile, the RPO said police should consider themselves public servants and if any official was found doing injustice to the people and involved in corrupt practices then strict departmental action will be taken against him. He added police officials should mend their ways and discharge their duties with honesty and root-out criminals from the society.
