FAISALABAD: Two drug pushers were convicted by sessions’ courts in Faisalabad on Thursday.

In the first case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhary Ghulam Rasool awarded life imprisonment with a fine of Rs100,000 to accused Saifullah Khan. The accused was involved in smuggling narcotics while 19 kilogrammes of drugs was also seized from his possession.

In yet another case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Mirza Shahid Baig awarded eight-and-a-half years imprisonment and a fine of Rs40,000 to a woman drug trafficker identified as Shazia Bibi.

The prosecution told the court that the anti-narcotics force had arrested Shazia Bibi and confiscated more than two kilogrammes of hashish.

Earlier in 2016, Additional Sessions Judge Nasir Ali awarded imprisonment to a narcotics dealer and imposed fine on him in a case registered by People's Colony police station.
