Kangana Ranaut may have become the 'queen' of Bollywood but surely, it isn't her diplomacy that has got her so far. Whether it's a controversy that she is embroiled in or a comment regarding one of her contemporaries, Kangana has always called a spade a spade and never shied away from it.

I have always operated from the place of my individuality: Kangana Ranaut

The actor remained true to her reputation of giving straight forward answers when she was recently asked to comment on her much-publicised legal spat with Hrithik Roshan , "I was dragged to court for being who I am," Miss Kyra quoted the Tanu Weds Manu star as saying.

According to Kangana, she was restricted to a relationship (with Hrithik) that materialised behind closed doors. "I fought fair and square. People can say rubbish but they can't decide how I will lead my life. I felt stigmatised. I would wake up to media reports of hideous emails which I hadn't written. I am a certified screenwriter from the New York Film Academy. I don't write such crap."

Here's why the Hrithik-Kangana spat is far from over

She further elaborated on why she refused to publicly apologise for her controversial statements. "I refused to apologise for that. I never understood the completely... who was impersonating whom?" she said, referring to emails that were credited to her and Hrithik. "I was threatened that horrifying secrets about me would be revealed. My parents were concerned for my safety so I couldn't bear it quietly. There was a group of jealous hats wandering around Hrithik, using him to take revenge from me."

Nonetheless, Kangana believes that overall, the film industry is a lovely place. "People have really cared for me. But I won't stand bullying. Prove what you are claiming and then I may apologise."

Kangana is now gearing up for the release of upcoming war drama Rangoon, in which she stars opposite Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
