Six more cities added to Safe City Project

Several Chinese companies had shown interest in investing in various projects in Punjab

LAHORE: Work on Safe City Project is underway on fast track while six other cities have also been included in it and the project will prove vital in providing peaceful atmosphere to the citizens, said Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a meeting with the delegation of Chinese investors led by Wang Helin on Tuesday.



The chief minister said several Chinese companies had shown interest in investing in various projects in Punjab. He added increasing cooperation between Chinese firms and Punjab will result in enhancement of economic ties between both the countries.

Wang Helin said the Chinese wanted to work with Punjab government as the Punjab CM’s vision was praiseworthy.

Vegetable markets

Shehbaz also presided over a meeting to review steps for improving affairs at vegetable markets across the province.

The Punjab government, he said, has taken a number of steps for providing facilities in vegetable markets. He said that it was the responsibility of the departments concerned to run the affairs of vegetable markets in the best way.

He directed that matters pertaining to vegetable markets should be speedily settled and provision of best facilities be assured.

Shehbaz said the cleanliness arrangements at vegetable markets must be personally reviewed by sanitation authorities.
