Netflix may soon take online streaming to another level as a group of engineers have constructed a device that allows viewers to scroll and choose using their brainwaves.

Mindflix, the gadget, is a modified version of the Muse headband fitted with a motion sensor designed to monitor brain activity for meditation purposes.

Netflix adds 7 million subscribers in global expansion

According to a video released by the company, viewers are seen browsing titles by simply moving their head from side-to-side and selecting one by concentrating on it.

However, Muse can't tell what you are thinking, but only how much activity there is at any given time in your frontal lobe. This suggests that the device would only work for binary options. Nevertheless, it is a great device for all those couch potatoes who don’t like getting up to search for TV remotes.

This experiment was part of Netflix Winter Hackday. Netflix hasn't announced yet whether they are considering using this device in future or not.
