MUZAFFARABAD: Two people including an assistant commissioner (AC) have been killed while two others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday.

The police said that Khurshidabad Sardar AC Shahbaz Khan was killed when his jeep fell into a deep gorge near the Palangi area of Haveli District.

Shahbaz succumbed to the injuries he sustained on the spot.

Locals rushed to the scene and pulled Khan’s body out of the wreckage. They shifted the body to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist on Sunday was run over by a speeding van near Chattar in Muzaffarabad.

Asad Malik, a resident of Gojra, Muzaffarabad, was travelling on his motorcycle when he was hit by a speeding van, which resulted in his death. Two people riding pillion with him sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital for treatment. They were listed as stable when this report was filed.
