‘Some elements’ trying to defame ex-army chief
The former army chief, who retired in November 2016, was allotted 90 acres of land, and the news triggered varying responses on mainstream and social media.
“This debate with intent of maligning army has the potential to create misunderstandings between state institutions...,” the statement added.
Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi, an analyst, while talking to The Express Tribune, said: “Apparently, this information has been leaked to tarnish his image which he had gained throughout his service and during his tenure as chief of the army staff.”
