The army chief, who visited the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar, directed army officers to award exemplary punishment to those involved in carrying out the attack. Inquiring about the health of the injured, General Bajwa expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He also offered fateha for the deceased.

Separately, bodies of two more victims were laid to rest in Kurram Agency after their funeral prayers were offered in the city’s central imambargah, a political administration official told The Express Tribune.

The political administration also declared three-days of mourning across the agency, where all education and business centers remained closed on the second day.
“Due to lack of facilities and limitation of equipment in the Agency Headquarters Hospital, 25 patients were referred to a provincial capital hospital,” AHQ Medical Superintendent Sabir Hussain told The Express Tribune. “We have discharged 15 people who suffered minor injuries,” he added.
