In a recent interview, Rishi confessed to having bought an award for INR30,000 back in the year 1973, reported Pinkvilla. Quoting the actor, senior Indian journalist Rajdeep Sardesai recently tweeted, "Yes, I bought a film award for INR30,000 in 1973. I am ashamed of what I did but I was young and rich!"

There has been considerable speculation that he bought the Filmfare best actor trophy for Bobby. The credibility of awards has always been disputed in Bollywood.
