Quetta International Airport: Senate sub-committee conducting inquiry

The committee said the issue of awarding the contract should be investigated

ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday directed the aviation division to conduct an inquiry into the contract of renovating the Quetta International Airport. The sub-committee met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Kalsoom Perveen, convener of the sub-committee. Member of the committee Senator Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini also attended the meeting. Aviation Division Secretary and other senior officials briefed the committee about the renovation work of Quetta International Airport. The committee expressed concerns over tampering in the bidding process. The committee said the issue of awarding the contract should be investigated and responsibility should be laid against officials concerned.
