Two famous eateries in Haripur fined 

The AAC collected Rs30,000 fines from each of the two owners of the famous eateries and issued warnings

HARIPUR: Two prominent hotels of the city were slapped with fines on Tuesday for serving unhygienic food at rates higher than set by the city administration.

According to the Haripur additional assistant commissioner, he conducted surprise visit to Olive Garden restaurant and Royal Shinwari Hotel.

During inspections of their kitchens, he found the cooking, serving and storing facilities inadequate and the food unhygienic, while the rates being charged from customers were also higher than what was approved, he said.

The AAC added that when he interviewed the waiting staff, he found that they were not being given pay and perks in accordance with labor laws.

The AAC collected Rs30,000 fines from each of the two owners of the famous eateries and issued warnings of legal action including sealing of the restaurants and jail terms for the owners if the anomalies were not addressed by the time of the next inspection.
