Seven killed in separate road accidents in Hyderabad

A truck collided with an ambulance and a car rammed into a tree

HYDERABAD: Two separate roads accidents in Jamshoro and Hyderabad on Saturday claimed seven lives and left six persons injured. An ambulance carrying a patient suffering burn injuries and his family from Mehar, Dadu district, to Karachi collided with a truck near the Torhi railway crossing on the Indus Highway.

Five persons, 45-year-old Abdul Hayee Brohi, 35-year-old Imamzadi Brohi, 30-year-old Aziz Maqsoo Babbur, 21-year-old Bashir Ahmed Babbur and 14-year-old Azhar Ali Brohi, died in the incident. Abdul Ghani Brohi and Abdul Ghaffar Brohi, the burns patient, were injured.

The bodies and injured persons were taken to taluka hospital in Manjhand town. The family belonged to Mitho Babbur village in Khanpur. According to the police, the truck driver and a cleaner who was a passenger in the truck fled, leaving the damaged vehicle behind.

The police said low visibility due to fog during the early hours of Saturday could possibly be a reason for the collision. The police have still not lodged an FIR of the accident.

Meanwhile, another accident left two sisters dead after their father crashed a car into a roadside tree. Twelve-year-old Samreen Khoso and 10-year-old Ayesha Khoso died in the incident. Their father, Qurban Khoso, and mother, Basheeran Khoso, were injured.

The family belonged to Dil Jan Khoso village in Hyderabad district and the accident occurred near Tando Haider.
