On Wednesday, the Karachi Company police had arrested B* and A* on the charge of allegedly raping a child.
According to the complaint submitted to the police by the victim’s father*, the boy* went to a shop in Karachi Company to purchase candies on Tuesday evening.
B* allegedly enticed the child to a room in the market, where he raped him.
According to the complaint, shopkeepers heard the boy scream and rescued him.
Police said another man, identified as Afzal, stood guard outside the room where the victim was allegedly assaulted.
Police said both suspects were pushcart vendors and natives of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The suspects were arrested on Wednesday and were produced before a judicial magistrate on Thursday.
The judge approved the police’s request for three-day physical remand of the suspects.
A police officer told The Express Tribune that results of the medical examination of the child showed no signs of a sexual assault.
He added, however, that this was likely because the victim was rescued by good Samaritans before the assault could occur.
