Suicide: Teenage girl poisons herself

HARIPUR: A teenage girl committed suicide in union council Pind Kamal Khan, on Wednesday which incidentally was the first suicide of the new year in the area police reported.

Kot Najibullah police said that Farzana Bibi 18, a resident of Village Bandi Sehran, had a quarrel with her elder sister Shazia over a domestic issue on Tuesday and as a result Farzana went into the room and consumed pesticide.

After a couple of hours when she did not come out of her bedroom her parents broke into her room and found her lying unconscious.

They took her to the Women and Children Hospital Haripur where the doctors washed her stomach, however, it was too late and she could not survive and died in the evening. The local police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
