MULTAN: A 10-day flower show opened in Cantonment Garden, Multan on Tuesday featuring hundreds of floral exhibits mostly by commercial nurseries. At least 156 varieties of different flowers were displayed at the flower exhibition titled ‘Gul-e-Daudi’.

Multan Core Commander Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Sattar inaugurated the floral show.

While addressing the participants, Cantonment Executive Officer Rizwan Ahmad Qazi said, “The flowers are a special gift of nature.”

“The sight of colorful flowers creates a soothing impact on mind and soul.” He said the floral exhibitions provide the chance for recreation to the general public.

He pointed out that such exhibitions were necessary for the preservation of environment. “There is a dire need to organise such events to create awareness among the masses and to counter the threat of climate change,” he said.
