494 units of fake pesticides seized in Multan

MULTAN: A team of the agriculture department raided a pesticides filling unit at Industrial Estate Area Multan and seized stock of fake pesticides on Friday.

Pest Warning and Quality Control of Pesticides (PWQCP) Assistant Director Omar Farooq and other staff raided a filling unit and seized 494 units of fake pesticides with dubious labels on them.

Spurious fertilisers: Drive against dealers launched in Sargodha 

The fake pesticides valued around Rs0.2 million. The seized pesticides were handed over to police and samples were sent to laboratory for analysis. An FIR has been registered against the suspects under Agriculture Pesticides Ordinance.

Earlier, a drive against the sale and manufacturing of spurious pesticides and fertilisers was launched in different districts. The action was initiated on the directions of the provincial chief minister.
