NAB, FIA investigating financial irregularities within PCB

The matter is expected to be discussed in board's upcoming Board of Governance (BOG) meeting

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) are investigating financial irregularities within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

According to sources, both investigative agencies have looked over the files of the past years, whereas they’ve also interviewed some officials from the board as well.

The sources further revealed that the investigation is regarding financial irregularities in the construction of the Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Stadium, the Multan Cricket Academy and the unconstitutional appointments and building of stands in the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

In the upcoming PCB’s Board of Governance (BOG) meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Karachi on Friday, the matter is expected to be discussed.

Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan said that the issue with the FIA and NAB is a straightforward one and that there are no problems whatsoever.

“The NAB issue is quite straightforward and will be solved soon,” he said.
