The founder of the lifestyle blog, Lace & Scotch, and the brand manager of Lala Textiles, talks to us about his style evolution — even sharing his most stubborn trouble area!

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I would describe it as athletic.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

It sure has! I used to have a lean and fit body, but currently I need to start working out again, to get back in shape.

How has your style changed over the years?

My style has definitely evolved over time. I try to stay on-trend and I am always on the lookout for statement pieces.

In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?

I would have to say my most troublesome area would have to be my belly. I would love to have six-pack abs someday, but for me, maintaining a flat stomach is the toughest! It all comes down to healthy eating habits, and it’s tough to control.

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

Plaid is my absolute favourite pattern — I believe you can never go wrong with it. You’ll find a lot of checkered shirts and jackets in my wardrobe. Even on a daily basis, I find myself wearing checkered shirts with black jeans quite often. When it comes to formal or red carpet events, I prefer suits, tailored jackets or waistcoats.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

Wearing the wrong shoes! It is extremely important to choose the right shoes on any given occasion, but especially when one has to wear suits.

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

Casual button-down shirts and polo shirts.Since I don’t have a lean body I tend to stay away from t-shirts.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

Coloured socks — it’s just not my thing!
