LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that more laptops would be distributed among students of the province in the current fiscal year. He said this during a high-level meeting held on Friday on discuss matters related to purchase of laptops for students for resuming the laptop distribution scheme. The chief minister said hundreds of thousands of students were benefitting from the laptop scheme. Shehbaz said the use of modern technology was important for contemporary education due to which Punjab government had launched the scheme for students and provided laptops worth billions of rupees. “This step is helping to empower students,” he added, saying more laptops would be given to students during the current fiscal year. He directed officials to complete the process of procurement of laptops as early as possible.
