An Indian woman was attacked with a baton after she resisted men who allegedly attempted to molest her.
Footage of the incident, which took place at an Uttar Pradesh marketplace showed the woman surrounded by a group of men, one of whom attacked her with a stick when she resisted another who reportedly attempted to grope her and remove her dupatta when she asked for directions.

The injured woman can be seen bleeding in the video. Police told The Indian Express that of the three suspects, one Anand Yadav had been arrested Wednesday morning. After filing a complaint, the woman reportedly threatened to shoot herself if the attackers were not nabbed.

According to reports, the woman’s husband was also struck, while her daughter witnessed the incident.
Earlier this year, two Muslim women were beaten up at a railway station in central India on suspicion of carrying beef, an offence in many parts of the Hindu-majority country.
Video footage broadcast on local television channels showed a group of women slapping, kicking and punching the two as a large crowd gathered.
