For the purpose, Multan District Coordination Officer Nadir Chattha had appointed 50 volunteer workers in each camp. The volunteers will work in three shifts and patrol the main markets and town of the city. The camps had been established at Gardaizi Market, Gulgasht, Mumtazabad, Hussain Agahi, Double Phatak and at popular places of the down town.
Besides, civil defence had also established five camps and appointed workers for the anti-encroachment operation. The DCO said that the anti-encroachment operation was the joint venture of district government and police. He directed all departments that material seized during the grand operation would not be returned to the owners. He pointed out that legal procedure will be followed while the confiscated material would be presented for bidding within two days.
