KARACHI: Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah was awarded a distinguished alumnus award and presented a research excellence award at NED University of Engineering and Technology University on Tuesday.

While talking to the media after the event at NED university, he dismissed reports that Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja was transferred on the directives of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership or anyone else. "The IG has gone on leave and you can confirm this with him. We have not forced him to take leave," assured the CM, adding that the IG had applied for leave, which he has approved.

A day after Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja was sent on forced leave, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and his cabinet members dismissed media reports that the IG was transferred on the directives of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership or anyone else.

"It is the government's decision to appoint the IG with the consultation of the prime minister," he said, dismissing impressions that decisions in the Sindh government are being made by someone other than him and his government. "I am an empowered CM and make all decisions on my own," he said, adding that no one can dictate to him or influence the government's policy.
