SUKKUR: The Ghotki police are searching for a woman for allegedly killing a man, whose body was found from her house in Muslim Colony, Daharki.

Thirty-five-year-old Irshad Ali Chachar was found dead in a locked house in Muslim Colony, Daharki. His body was shifted to the taluka hospital for post-mortem, where the doctors said that he was strangled to death.

The house, from where his body was found, was in possession of Majeedan Chachar. Majeedan is said to be a resident of Jamal Din Wali town in District Rahim Yar Khan. According to the residents, her house in Daharki has been locked for the last three days.

A Daharki-based journalist told The Express Tribune that the deceased was a resident of Chachar village. According to the reporter, the victim's wife had committed suicide a few months ago. Quoting the residents of the area, the reporter said that Irshad often used to visit Majeedan's house. She lived in the rented house along with her daughter.

On Saturday, the residents of the area informed the police about foul smell coming from the locked house. After the police broke into the house, they found Irshad's decomposed body from one of the rooms.

Daharki SHO Qalb-e-Abbas Shah told The Express Tribune that a police team had gone to Jamal Din Wali to arrest her but so far she has not been found. The SHO added that the police have found some pictures of the deceased and the accused together, making Majeedan the key suspect. The SHO refuted rumours about Majeedan's arrest and her confession of killing Irshad over sexual harassment.
