“We would have to improve our literacy rate, while access to education in the country must be easy,” said International Islamic University Islamabad Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai while addressing a two-day moot on “Distance education and e-learning” at the varsity
on Monday.
The conference had been organised by IIUI’s Directorate of Distance Education in which experts and researchers from Malaysia, UK, USA, Germany, Belgium, Philippines, Trinidad and Tobago are participating with 50 foreign and national scholars expected to present 120 papers on the topic.
Dr Yasinzai added that out of the 56 million Pakistani youth, only eight per cent had access to universities.
