An Australian-owned ride-sharing, car-hiring and booking app Limofied was launched in Lahore on Saturday.

The app allows passengers to submit a trip-request using their smartphones, which is then transmitted to the closest Limofied drivers. The drivers then use their registered vehicles to provide timely, comfortable, courteous and most economical transportation services to a variety of consumer segments.

“Being a Pakistani living abroad, it was my desire to make innovative contributions to empower the deprived segments in our motherland, through technological solutions," said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Limofied Technologies Ltd Syed Muhammad Kashif Iqbal.

"These solutions create sustainable employment opportunities and healthy revenue streams, especially for the new generation," he added.

The launch of Limofied comes after Careem and Uber have already entered the Pakistan market, launching different kinds of promos and services to compete with each other.

The service allows passengers to book a car for point-to-point travel, airport transfers, weddings or special events for corporate clients and leisure travels.

One feature that sets Limofied apart from its local competitors is its ‘La femme’, an exclusive service for the female passengers by female drivers.

The service will soon expand to other cities in the country
