One piece three ways: Sania Maskatiya

In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection, according to their own individual style and taste!

Sania Maskatiya’s velvet tunic is from the designer’s latest winter festive collection. This classic black piece uses sequin and beaded embellishments on the shoulder, which gives the otherwise simple piece, a special detail. The trendy cut of the tunic and use of this season’s most loved fabric — velvet — gives this piece a touch of elegance. The top is certainly a wardrobe staple for the winter festive season.

Black is my favourite colour to wear, especially on formal occasions or a night out. I am totally in love with this Sania Maskatiya top. As it is quite loosely fit, I opted to tuck it into my black velvet skinny pants. The top incorporated a little silver embroidery on the shoulder, so I thought that keeping it all black would help make the embellishment stand out more. I kept my make-up simple with just some black eyeliner. To complete my look I wore my black pointed heels and a black and gold Alexander McQueen clutch.

Winter is here and that means we’ll be seeing a lot more velvet! I paired this gorgeous Sania Maskatiya creation with my favourite ripped jeans. I then wore a yellow Alexander McQueen clutch to add a pop of colour and toned it down with a pair of classic nude heels. For my make-up I went for a soft, feminine day look and for my hair I went for a voluminous blow-dry. I like my outfits to have minimal detailing but all the right cuts — and this tunic is all that and more! It’s perfect for a girl’s night out, as it can easily be dressed up or down depending on what your plans entail.

This season is all about velvet! I wanted to put together an outfit that would be a great option to wear to a daytime winter event. So first I paired this stunning Sania Maskatiya velvet tunic with sleek, white, flare pants and then wore bright orange heels to add a little bit of colour to the monochrome outfit. Keeping in line with my quirky style, I decided to add a tassel belt, which I believe gives my look, and this festive winter tunic, the perfect fall, fit and definition. I went for light eyes and a deep lip to complete my look for the chilly winter season.
