KARACHI: A two-member team, constituted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), to bring back Abdul Rehman alias Bhola, one of the key suspects of Baldia factory fire, reached Thailand on Sunday.

The team, including deputy director Badar Baloch and inspector Rehmatullah Domki, is likely to meet Interpol officials to hand over the necessary documents for taking custody. The team is also expected to meet Rahman Bhola today (Monday).

FIA sources said that a member of the Pakistan High Commission in Bangkok will also assist the FIA team.

Interpol nets key suspect in deadly Baldia factory fire

Bhola allegedly set the Baldia factory on fire about four years ago leaving over 250 workers dead and several others wounded.

However, sources said that Bhola in his statement to the Interpol insisted that he was a political worker.

Since it is established that the fire at the Baldia factory was not accidental, the arrest of Bhola was a first major development in four years.
