KARACHI: The apex committee has made important decisions because of which not only has peace returned to the city but sectarian harmony has also developed across the province, said Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah.

The CM said this during a meeting with Karachi Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar at CM House on Thursday. During the meeting, the CM thanked the corps commander for his valuable input in apex committee meetings and for supporting the Sindh government and the police in equipping them with the latest gadgets and army trainings. “It was our collective wisdom, efforts and strong strategy that the Sindh government successfully defeated terrorists, extortionists, terrorists and target killers operating in Karachi,” he said.

The corps commander said that the provincial government was performing well under the active leadership of the CM. “It’s really good that you are giving special attention to the city’s development,” he said, adding that a long clean-up operation of this terrorist-ravaged city will make peace sustainable. The CM and corps commander also discussed that there will no compromise on peace while targeted operation against terrorists and criminals will continue.
