Disobeying the court: Arrest warrants for 97 cops released

The judge wrote that the court had repeatedly summoned the policemen from four police stations

SARGODHA: District and sessions judges on Wednesday released arrest warrants of 97 police officers for not obeying court orders in letter and spirit.

Court officials said the judges of different courts, including District and Sessions Judge Sajjad Hussain, released arrest warrants of 97 police officers of 27 police stations for not obeying court orders. The arrest warrants were issued against Muhammad Imtiaz, Azhar Bajwa, Arshad Ijaz, Sher Muhammad, Muhammad Aslam, Babar Khan, Dost Muhammad and others. The court directed the Sargodha DPO Muhammad Sohail Chaudhary to produce the said police officers in the relevant courts.

Earlier on September 8, additional sessions judge issued arrest warrants for 37 policemen for failing to comply with court orders in Faisalabad. The judge wrote that the court had repeatedly summoned the policemen from four police stations in various cases pending before it but they had not turned up.
