Last Door Closes: MQM-P withdraws legal support to party founder

The party has asked the lawyers to stop pursuing the cases

KARACHI: MQM Pakistan has decided to withdraw its involvement in cases in London against MQM founder. The party has asked the lawyers to stop pursuing the cases.

According to sources, MQM Pakistan has informed the British law firm about the decision and told them that now the party has nothing to do with the MQM founder and the cases against him. The party has also demanded return of the amount forwarded as advances to the firm which is said to run into hundreds of thousands of pounds. The British lawyers firm was defending the MQM founder in cases against him, including the money laundering charge.

The sources said the firm has agreed to return the money and it will be deposited into the bank accounts of leaders of the MQM Pakistan.The sources said that Barrister Saif, Farogh Nasim and Farooq Sattar were in contact with the firm looking after the cases against the founder of MQM.
