SUKKUR: A teenage girl and her cousin were killed by the former's father on the pretext of karo-kari in Rasool Bux Weesar village, situated within the jurisdiction of the Saddar police station early Tuesday morning.

Mushtaq Weesar suspected that his 15-year-old daughter, Gul Bano, had an illicit relationship with his 17-year-old nephew Dur Muhammad.

Early Tuesday morning, when all the family members were sleeping, Weesar saw Bano and Muhammad sitting together and talking. After this, he attacked both of them with a wooden stick and injured them. Later, he strangled the two and fled the scene.

Upon information, the police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital, Jacobabad, for post-mortem.

The Saddar police raided different places and managed to arrest Weesar, which was also confirmed by an official at the Saddar police station. The official, requesting anonymity, also said that the suspect has confessed to murdering the two teenagers.
