LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered a crackdown on Sunday against anti-social elements, criminals and proclaimed offenders in Lahore to maintain the law and order situation. The CM ordered this while chairing a meeting to review the security situation in the province in detail. Shahbaz said indiscriminate action should be taken against criminals and all-out steps taken to safeguard the life and property of the citizens. He said police should perform their duty efficiently for ensuring peace in the province. “The police will have to come up to the expectations of the people,” he ordered. The police officials informed the chief minister about the progress on crime cases in Lahore, especially Millat Park robbery-cum-murder case and the looting of a family at traffic signal in Garden Town. The CCPO assured the chief minister that the accused involved in the incidents would be arrested soon.
