Industrialists threaten to go on strike

KARACHI: Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Patron-in-chief Siraj Kassem Teli has threatened that the business community would go on an indefinite strike in case the government fails to improve the security situation.

Talking to traders at the KCCI office, he said the business community is worried over increasing incidents of kidnapping for ransom and extortion, according to a press release on Saturday.

“The insecurity and anxiety among businesspersons is mounting as the government has been unable to arrest murderers, who are openly challenging the writ of state,” said Teli.
