A police constable was shot and injured by a suspect after a scuffle in Shahdara Town on Friday.

SHO Shahdara Town said the victim, Muhammad Sajid deployed at Police Lines in Qila Gujjar Singh, was returning home after work when a car hit him near Phattak No. 8.

The driver and the constable had exchanged some harsh words, leading to a fight. The suspect not only thrashed the victim along with his accomplices but also opened fire at him. Sajid suffered a gunshot on the leg and was admitted to a nearby hospital.

Police are searching for two suspects, identified as Shah Jahan and Zulqarnain, who work as property dealers.
