Busted: Rohri police catch two men worth Rs1m

Rohri police manage to arrest two proclaimed offenders, with head money worth Rs500,000 each.

SUKKUR: After an encounter on the link road on Saturday, the Rohri police managed to arrest two proclaimed offenders, with head money worth Rs500,000 each. Sukkur DPO Aitizaz Goraya announced this breakthrough during a press conference. Babar Mirani and Ashfaq Mirani are residents of Bachal Shah Mirani village and Babar was wanted in 15 cases and Ashfaq was wanted in 19.

They also arrested two Jagirani men, two days ago, and found five stolen motorcycles. The police also arrested a man suspected of masterminding the robbery at a fish wholesaler’s shop last week. This man works at the same market in Sukkur, he added.

An accused Yaroo Shaikh was also held and the police found Rs50,000 in his possession. According to Goraya, Shaikh was involved in a dacoity at Jehangir Flour Mills in Rohri, a week ago.

The DPO said that the police have confiscated more than 20 motorcycles because their owners left them unlocked. So far, no one has come to claim them, he added. These vehicles will be displayed at the 15 Rescue Centre on Monday for owners to reclaim them.
