ZURICH: Switzerland froze the assets of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi on Thursday. “The Federal Council strongly condemns the use of violence of the Libyan leader against the people,” the Swiss foreign ministry said in a statement. “Given the developments, the Federal Council has decided to freeze any possible assets of

Muammar Qaddafi.” The White House earlier said it was not ruling anything out in its response to the government’s crackdown against a popular revolt.
