ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be providing a helping hand to the banned leg-spinner Danish Kaneria in finding a well-paid permanent employment in one of the cricket playing department.

Kaneria, who was banned for life by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in June 2012, believes he was barred from the game based on false statements of convicted English Country cricketer Mervyn Westfield.

The offer that Kaneria will be provided with an employment was made by PCB in the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) held last month.

In the meeting, committee member Ramesh Kumar Vankwani raised a question regarding Kaneria to which the PCB replied that they will sort an employment for Kaneria in the departments affiliated with the PCB.

However, when contacted, a PCB official told APP that no progress on this matter has been made yet. "PCB has not yet contacted any of its affiliated departments for Kaneria’s employment," he said.

Meanwhile, Kaneria confirmed that he has not been contacted by the PCB regarding his employment.

Also, the leg-spinner had said earlier that the board must find a way out for him so that he could continue with the game of cricket to earn a living. Kaneria added that if PCB allows him to play domestic cricket then it would be a great help for him.
