Thief escapes: Motorway police recover stolen car

ISLAMABAD: National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) recovered a car stolen from Rawalpindi, a press release said.

According to reports, Rawalpindi police informed the NH&MP control room in Islamabad about the number and make of the vehicle and requested for help in its recovery, the press release said.

The control room alerted all of the NHMP stations and patrol officers about the incident.

Meanwhile, officers on N-5 signalled a suspicious car to stop on GT Road near Kamra, but the driver stopped at some distance and fled on foot.

While checking the abandoned vehicle, they found out that it was the same stolen car they were looking for.

The NHMP officers handed over the car to the Hassanabdal police for further action, the press releases said.
