Gohar Rehman and five others, who were selected for different lower-grade posts in the department, went to the court, claiming they were already selected for the posts re-advertised by the department.
On April 18, vacancies for driver, electrician, Baildar, boatman, mailman,
canal guard, plumber, guard, sweeper, Naib Qasid and gardener were advertised, the petitioners’ counsel stated.
The petitioners, he contended, were selected for the jobs but the department re-advertised the posts on October 25 on political pressure without informing the selected candidates.
The plaintiffs requested the court to pass appropriate orders to the authorities to give them appointment letters and to declare the re-advertised posts illegal.
