As part of German Weeks 2016, a fusion concert 'Sufi Step-Pakistan meets Germany' was organised on Sunday evening at the German consulate.

A large number of people attended the concert to enjoy the collaborative performance of musicians Viktor Marek and Ashraf Sharif Khan.

Marek, also known as 'The Carpet', is a master of the small details in music;: from blinking drum computers and samplers he can make music in no time. On the other hand, Khan is the son of sitar player Ustad Muhammad Sharif Khan Poonchwala. Khan's music combines an astounding technical proficiency with an accomplished artist's striving for perfection in musical expression.

German Weeks in Karachi, presented by the German consulate and Goethe-Institut Pakistan, endeavours to give people a taste of German traditions, culture art, sports, music and language. It aims to promote German culture and encourage people to become aware of its traditions.

This year, the German consulate and Goethe-Institut will be hosting 17 events, including musical concerts, exhibitions, spelling competitions, workshops and lectures. The two-month-long event, which started on October 3, will culminate on December 13.
