ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has left for England on a three-day official visit.

Nisar will hold meetings with his British counterpart Amber Rudd, Secretary of State Boris Johnson and National Security Adviser Sir Mark Justin Layall, ministry spokesperson told The Express Tribune on Sunday.

Bilateral relations between the two countries, security situation and immigration matters, among other issues, will be discussed in the meetings, the spokesperson added.

It wasn’t a security leak, the story was made up: Nisar

Progress is expected regarding Pakistan's reference to UK authorities against Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder Altaf Hussain, who is currently living in a self-imposed exile in London. Investigation into Dr Imran Farooq’s murder case is also likely to be discussed during the minister’s tour.

After the three-day official visit, Nisar will undergo two surgeries, and the stay is likely to be extended for another 10 days.

Doctors at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) had recently diagnosed Nisar with hernia, advising him to operate it as soon as possible. However, due to political turmoil in the country, i.e. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's 'Islamabad lockdown', he delayed the medical treatment.
