One piece three ways: Farah and Fatima

Three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection

November 13, 2016

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection, according to their own individual style and taste!

These flare pants are from the design house’s latest collection, which the duo showcased at PLBW 2016. The inspiration behind the embellishment is the intricate embroideries seen on Kashmiri shawls. The designers claim that the colour combination is also a reflection of the rich Kashmiri colour palette.

I would describe my personal style as being casual and trendy. I prefer being in my PJ pants, but I like to experiment with basics. I love wearing looks that can go from day to evening since I’m always on the go. Since I was aiming for a more casual outfit, I paired these Farah and Fatima pants with a black tank top and I accessorised with a brown tie up belt and a choker to keep it fun and trendy. For a quirky touch, I complemented my ensemble with sneakers. For my make-up I went for a nude everyday look and kept my hair straight. I would wear this on a night out with friends.

My personal style is classic and eternal as that never goes out of fashion. I love dressing up and mixing different things together. I had an Indian sari wrap by Ritu Kumar, and when I saw these pants I thought it would go perfectly with it, and even give it a more contemporary look. For my accessories I wore polki earrings by Dr Omer Adil and a Judith Leiber flower clutch to add some colour. For my hair I went for a voluminous blow-dry and for my make-up, I have to say Jacob K did a brilliant job. He gave me glamorous, elaborate eyes! I would wear this to a wedding.

I would describe my personal style as simple yet classic. I prefer wearing neutral colours, as I’m not a fan of prints. I love styling simple outfits with jewellery and make-up. For these Farah and Fatima pants, I aimed for a semi formal look and since the pants were heavy, I kept the top simple to highlight the pants a bit more. I enhanced my outfit with a beautiful polki choker. For my make-up I went for MAC’s ‘Russian Red’ lipstick and a lot of highlighter. As for my hair, I got a voluminous blow-dry. I would wear this on a night out!
