ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday extended the judicial remand of Raja Arshad Mehmood and Noman Khokhar by two weeks till November 17. They are the prime suspects in the murder of Barrister Fahad Malik.

ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi extended remand for Mehmood and Khokhar after their previous remand periods expired.

Mehmood was arrested by FIA officials at the Torkham border on August 28 while allegedly attempting to escape to Afghanistan.

The Shalimar police had booked Mehmood, Khokhar and at least eight unidentified persons after Fahad was gunned down in F-10/3 in the wee hours of August 15. Fahad’s uncle Malik Tariq Ayub was also injured in the attack.

Ayub is the complainant in the case. In an application submitted to the police, Ayub maintained that he was injured by a bullet fired by Khokhar, while Fahad was shot by Mehmood.
