ISLAMABAD: Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria believes that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) must find a way out of his life-ban for him so that he could continue with cricket to earn for a living.

Previously, Kaneria, alongside county cricketer Mervyn Westfield, was banned from playing the sport by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after finding the duo guilty on match-fixing charges. However, Westfield has since resumed his cricketing career.

Taking Pakistan’s greatest ever Test team for granted

Talking to the APP, the 35-year-old leggie said that he is unable to earn a livelihood without playing cricket and asked the board to help him in this regard. “If PCB allows me to play domestic cricket, then it will be a great help for me,” he said.

Kaneria added that if the board helps him in getting some managerial post then it would be difficult for him, since he has only worked as a cricketer his whole life.

Earlier, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination had also recommended PCB to review Kaneria’s case. It was stressed in the meeting that cricket is everything for the leg-spinner therefore the board must look into his matter again.
