Ranbir Kapoor opens up about 'maukay pey chauka' comment on Aishwariya Rai

The actor clears air in a recent statement

Ranbir and Aishwariya sizzled on screen with their chemistry in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - creating a significant buzz among fans. In a radio chat, the lead actor opened up about his experience on shooting with Aish and one particular comment didn't go too well with the Bachchans.

Ranbir revealed that he felt shy and his hands used to shiver even when he would touch Ash's cheeks. However, Ash, being a professional asked him to do it properly, reminding his that they're acting at the end of the day.

To that Ranbir added, "Tabhi maine socha, kabhi aisa mauka milega nahi, so maine bhi mauke pe chauka maar diya!".

The actor's 'mauke pe chauka' comment reportedly created bitterness among the Bachchans and according to an India daily, a close friend of the family said that the Bachchans do not have any objection to the scenes in the film, but felt that Ranbir's comment was embarrassing.

The actor promptly took note of these reports and spoke up to clear the air and said that the comments were taken in a bad taste and blown out of proportion.

"Aishwarya is such a superb actor and also a family friend. She's one of India's most talented and respected women. I will be forever grateful to her for her contribution to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. I could not have disrespected her like that," the statement read.
